We are all born with a subtle energy inside us known as the Kundalini Energy or Inner Energy. This subtle energy travels throughout a vast intricate system of energy channels and energy centers in your central nervous system, influencing your physical, cognitive and emotional well being, nurturing and protecting your mind, body and soul.
The Kundalini Energy is a primordial energy, the source of all energy. It is a pure, living and dynamic energy that cannot be destroyed or corrupted. It obeys its own laws, rising upward, against the force of gravity. And as it rises and flows throughout our subtle energy system, it purifies, consumes and cleanses imperfections. The Kundalini Energy rises for the first time, when you experience Self-Realization. And subsequently, again each time you raise the energy and establish the state of meditation.
Energy flows throughout your body via three main vertical energy channels or Nadis, flowing through seven primary energy centers or chakras which are located at the sides of your main nerve plexuses or networks of interlaced nerves. At birth, your residual inner energy settles into the triangular shape Sacrum Bone at the base of your spine, which is located slightly above the first energy center. There, this energy lies dormant waiting to be awakened. Once this subtle energy is awakened through the process of Self-realization, you may feel vibrations or tingling sensation in your hands and at the top of your head in the Fontanelle area. The energy rises up through your spinal column flowing upward through the six energy centers above the Sacrum Bone. The second energy center, the third, the fourth, the fifth, the sixth and finally, the seventh crown energy center.
Each energy center has three components: left, center and right, located within the left, center and right channels, respectively. As the subtle energy pierces through the top of your head, it unites your individual consciousness with the universal consciousness. You may experience this union as a powerful pulsing sensation in the crown of your head often followed by a melting sensation or cool vibrations. These pulsing sensations can also be felt in your fingers and in the palms of your hands. This experience of energy awakening is known as Self-realization. Once union is achieved, the universal cosmic energy flows back into us through the crown energy center and downward through our three energy channels, nourishing and balancing all of our energy centers.
